I’ve been putting off getting back to blogging because I had convinced myself I wasn’t ready. However, if I waited until I felt I was ready I’d never get back to it.
It is unfortunate that it often takes a tragedy or other life changing experience to make us get off our rear end and do the things we should have been doing all along.
We are great at coming up with excuses:
- I don’t have time
- I’m too old
- I’m too young
- I’m not an expert
There are many more excuses we use to keep us from expanding our comfort zone and putting ourselves out there and risking gasp people learning who we really are and what we really love to do.
I am far from perfect when it comes to writing, blogging and speaking but I have a great group of mentors who are helping me to improve on a daily basis. It is up to you to take the first step. Before you do I suggest you find a friend, mentor, coach or group of like minded people who will be there to support and encourage you.
My hope is when I look back at this post I will see how far I have come and how much better a writer and communicator I have become through practice and implementing what I have learned.
Take action today! We cannot change the past and taking action now is the only way we can change the future.
